Getting started
Add a hat
Tap the gold plus button at the top of the side rail. Take a photo or choose one from your library, then pick the style, material, colours, size and occasions.
Log a wear
Open a hat and tap “Wear it today”, or use the row of hats at the top of the Diary. The calendar, streak and Gathering Dust list update straight away.
Follow the care plan
Every hat gets care tasks based on its material. Open Care to see what is due, tick tasks off, snooze them or open the step-by-step technique.
Find your size
In Sizes, drag the tape to your head measurement. Hatstand shows US, UK, EU and letter sizes and can save it as your default for new hats.
Questions and answers
Do I need an account?
No. Hatstand has no sign-in. Everything you enter is stored on your device only.
Why does Hatstand ask for the camera and photos?
The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a hat or take a portrait for the try-on mirror. The photo library is used when you pick an existing picture, and to save a try-on picture when you tap Save to Photos. You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
I'm not getting reminders.
Open Settings in Hatstand and check that Care reminders is switched on and that notifications are allowed. If they were declined earlier, tap “Open system settings” and allow notifications for Hatstand. You can also choose the time reminders arrive.
How is the care schedule worked out?
Each material has its own routine: for example, fur felt is brushed weekly and steamed every two months, while straw gets sun checks and goes into its box in autumn. Seasonal storage follows your hemisphere, which you can set in Settings.
Can I move my collection to a new device?
Your data stays on the device where you entered it and is included in your regular iCloud or computer backup of that device. You can also export a spreadsheet of your collection from Settings → Export collection.
How do I remove the sample hats?
Long-press a hat on the Stand and choose Delete, or use Settings → Erase all data to start again with an empty stand.
The try-on mirror doesn't open the camera.
Some devices, such as iPads without a rear camera or simulators, have no camera available. Use Library to choose a portrait instead.
Does Hatstand cost anything?
No. Hatstand has no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads.
