Who we are
This policy covers the Hatstand app for iPhone and iPad (“Hatstand”, “the app”, “we”). Hatstand is a personal tool for keeping a record of the hats you own, how often you wear them and how you look after them.
Data we collect
None. We do not operate servers that receive data from the app, and the app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software. We never see your hats, photos, notes or measurements.
Information stored on your device
To work, Hatstand saves the following locally, inside the app's private storage on your device:

This information never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself, for example with the share sheet or the spreadsheet export. It is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer) under Apple's own terms. You can delete all of it at any time in Settings → Erase all data, or by deleting the app.
Permissions
- Camera: used only when you tap Camera to photograph a hat or take a portrait for the try-on mirror.
- Photo library: used when you choose an existing picture, and to save a try-on picture when you tap Save to Photos. Hatstand only receives the pictures you pick.
- Notifications: used for care reminders, the optional daily milliner's note and a nudge when a hat has rested too long. All reminders are scheduled locally on your device; no push service is involved.
Each permission is optional and can be changed in the iOS Settings app. The rest of Hatstand keeps working without it.
Web pages inside the app
“Read more” links on style pages open the relevant Wikipedia article, and Settings opens this policy and our support page, inside an in-app browser. These pages are loaded from their websites, which may log standard request information such as your IP address under their own privacy policies. The in-app browser does not keep cookies or website data after it is closed.
Sharing
When you share a hat card, a try-on picture or a spreadsheet, the system share sheet sends it to the app or person you choose. Hatstand has no part in that transfer and keeps no copy elsewhere.
Children
Hatstand is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the relevant age in your country).
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. You remain in full control of the information stored in the app on your device. Residents of the EU, UK, California and other regions keep all rights granted by local law; if you have a question about them, contact us.
Changes to this policy
If Hatstand ever changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
